On a recent road trip we came across this very interesting Solar Panel. See https://smartflower.com
These array is capable of producing 4-6 kW/hr of energy. Very unique as it opens each morning when the sun rises and closes its petals when the sun sets in the evening. It is automated to elevate and turn following the sun to maximize KW output. Each peatl is fitted with a brush to clean the panel as it opens and closes daily. The automation on the solar arrray is awesome. If you go by the Irving Big Stop, Silver Fox at Salisbury, it is worth the time to have a look. I have more pictures but I think you get the idea. There is much info at the URL above.

My Fun Stuff.
I am retired, and I prefer NOT to use the term WORK. I really enjoyed my career and don't think I would have traded it for anything else. So enough about this subject and I prefer to think of all the many things I do today as fun stuff. Since retiring, I still enjoy my ham radio hobby and do get on from time-to-time chasing DX, operating a bit in contests and working a bit on the newer digital modes. About 1990 is started to trace my family tree, genealogy. and most days I spend many hours researching. It is a never ending challenge but a lot of fun and sometimes frustrating. In the past year we have joined the local astronomy club and are enjoying it very much. Another steep learning curve with all the facets of viewing the night sky. Just getting into attempting to take some pictures of the night sky......not just a click and shoot thing as it is today with most cell phones. Another big challenge! Great astronomy websites: Saint John Astronomy Club; http://sjastronomy.ca Also Astronomy By The Bay; http://sjastronomy.ca/astronomy-by-the-bay The biggest event to come along in about 50 years will happen on April 8, 2024 with a Total Solar Eclipse that will happen right here in NB. A total eclipse of the Sun will happen across the middle of NB starting around 3:30PM and ending around 5:40 with a 2 minute 7 second total Moon shadow over the Sun at 4:34 PM. Observing this requires some CAREFULL CONSIDERATION as observing without proper eye protection would have serious consequences, including blindness. There is proper eye protection available for observing so please do some research and only buy certified equipment. Total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 | Canadian Space Agency (asc-csa.gc.ca) See map below where the Total Eclipse can be observed. Let me tell you I am never bored. More to come. |
